A little about my “Go Green” background…

It’s been a while since I became self aware and have made
a promise to live more harmoniously with my environment.
That takes everything into consideration; my home, my
husband, my family, my friends, my work and all my
activities.  I’m not one of those people that likes to go
to the extreme, but I do like to stay well informed and
make incremental changes consciously.

I’ve always been teased by friends because of certain
things I have done all of my life, like:

  • cooking everything from scratch,
  • never buying plastic containers,
  • cleaning my windows with water and vinegar,
  • steaming my sinks, floors and laundry,
  • ironing my bed sheets,

just to name a few.

However, these are habits I learned from my European
family, so don’t use this knowledge against me, I didn’t
know any better growing up.  I just carried on proudly
with my family traditions.  It wasn’t until this whole
green movement thing that I realized a lot of my chore skills
are “green”, so I’m in with the cool crowd.  (Just saying “cool
crowd” makes me uncool, LOL.)
What I’m trying to say is that
those same friends that teased me for years were suddenly
asking me for tips on how to clean “green”, how to cook from
scratch, what to look for in ” go green” items and products for
the house, the kids, the pets, even for the husbands.

This is why this site.  It will help me stay on track and
hopefully offer some guidance on how to make small changes that
have great impact on your overall health, family, budgets and
peace of mind.
